Dubai- what dreams are made of!

If you are thinking about visiting Dubai anytime soon, don't hesitate, GO. Dubai oozes glitz, glamour and beauty.

I am well travelled but I can honestly say Dubai is probably number one on my list of places to go.

I went in February, Dubai is hot all year around and summer is the cheapest time to visit. I am very lucky I stayed with my fantastic friend Kate, her apartment was situated in Dubai Marina, a sought after area to stay/live. Kates apartment is one of the second tallest buildings overlooking the beach and is featured in tons of Instagram pictures as a backdrop from Barasti beach.

This was my view when I woke up to every morning!

View of the Palm from Kates Balcony!

Kate has lived there for almost two years, she is  Dubai's answer to a fashionista and knows all the best fashion tips, places to be and places to see. Who better to show me the wonderful Dubai?!

Must see places!!!

Dubai Mall

The Dubai Mall is a shopping mall in Dubai and the largest mall in the world by total area. It is the nineteenth largest shopping mall in the world, it oozes wealth, glamour, elegance and originality. Sarah Jessica Parker MOVE OVER, Manolo Blahnik is just one of the amazing designer shops here, I was literally melting in designer heaven. Valentino, Gucci, YSL, Jimmy Choo.... you name it, its here. The bottom floor leads out to Dubai fountain and of course the amazing Burj Khalifa.

Burj Khalifa

The Burj Khalifa is the Worlds tallest building in the heart of Dubai. I was amazed to see such an architectural wonder. Downtown side view is awesome and breath-taking.
The whole Downtown area is spectacular with the Fountains, Souq al Bahar shopping area and of course, the enormous Dubai Mall.
The fountain show is memorising, the Burj Khalifa lights up when it starts and displays the most  beautiful array of patterns and colours.

Spectacular Burj Khalifa in all its glory.

Atlantis The Palm

Step into a world filled with excitement and adventure. The palm has so much to offer:-

  • Swim with the dolphins
  • yacht and boat cruises.
  • Lost chambers aquarium.
  • Atlantis aquarium dives.
  • Aquaventure waterpark
  • Beaches/ pools.
  • Restaurants.

Baristi Beach

Head here if you're cool! No seriously, this is where everyone goes after a night out. Baristi is the place to be, day or night. Barasti is set right on the beach-front in the heart of Dubai Marina. It is a popular spot with incredible drinks, shisha and stunning views.
The beach is free to use in the day and has a fantastic beach bar with amazing food and drinks. The beach also boasts giant inflatables, what more could we want?

Of course I found the inflatable giant swan and had to have a pose with it!!

Brunch

Brunch in Dubai is a MUST. The weekend starts on Thursday, Friday is the day to Brunch, Dubai offers a variety of brunches, from brunch in the Atlantis to brunch at Candypants. Kate took me to Candypants, this is Dubai's famous party brunch. It cost around £70 British pounds for entry, you can have as much food and drinks as you like. GET READY TO PARTY....once food is out of the way its time for SHOTS SHOTS SHOTS .... it is crazy, everyone is singing and dancing on the tables, shots are taken from a watering can and people are dancing with inflatable toys.

Candypants is a must!

Burj Al Arab

You can see the Burj Al Arab from a variety of beaches and different areas of Dubai. Kate took me to Meat and Co at the Madinat Jumeirah on my last night. This location is awesome, probably one of the most beautiful in all Madinat Jumeirah. The staff were really friendly, the bread with butter you get at the beginning, is WOW...it is chocolate and beetroot, The steak was one of the best I've ever had. The most magical moment was the view, the Burj Al Arab was directly opposite us.

This was the view from the restaurant.
